Episode 105 - Joys of Bayes, Belief Networks, and Aerodynamics with Sophie Carr

Today’s guest is Sophie Carr, a mathematician who specializes in Bayesian Inference and Aerodynamics. Max asks about her analogies for wrapping one’s head around Bayesian Inference, and applying it in the real world.

Max also follows up on Encryption laws.

Sophie Carr is the founder of the award winning company Bays Consulting. Having grown up building Lego spaceships she studied aeronautical engineering before discovering Bayesian Belief Networks which has led to a career she loves working in statistics and analytics – essentially make a living out of finding patterns in data sets.   Sophie has never lost her fascination with Bayes Theorem or aeroplanes both of which helped her become The World’s Most Interesting Mathematician in 2019.
